Location

Girls Getaway will take place at Timberline Camp & Conference Center located in Lindale, TX. It is nestled in the East Texas pines with great air-conditioned cabins, dining and meeting halls with a pool and zip line for us to enjoy as well!

Those two smiling girls to the left have 17 years of friendship together! We met in high school while singing in the high school choir together.  When we each got married to the cute Warrior Week directors, who were already best buds, our friendship deepened.  Megan grew up going to this camp when it was called Pioneer Girls Camp and served as a junior counselor and counselor and went on to work at other camps during college. Courtney also grew up going to Christian camps and served with youth during her college years.  We both LOVE camp!!

But that’s not all! We both are mommas – Megan to three boys and Courtney to three girls and a boy! We also serve together at our church on the worship team (still singing together).

We are passionate about seeing young girls come to know how wonderfully and beautifully God designed them to be.  Our desire is for them to leave camp confident in who God created them to be, pursuing Christ and living out the life He has planned for them as strong women of God.

 FAQs

  • On Monday morning the week of camp we will meet at Gateway Community Church (Wylie, TX) and depart for camp at Disciples Crossing in Athens, TX on chartered buses. Girls Getaway and Warrior Week will be departing for their separate locations at the same time. We will return to Gateway on Friday afternoon around 4-5pm.

  • We can work with you to accommodate for most dietary restrictions. Just make a note of the issues when you register and we’ll take care of the rest!

  • Our bunk rooms are separated by grade. So if your friend is in the same grade and you request them at registration, then yes - we’ll do our best to get them in the same room. However, if they don’t make it in the same room, the majority of time the girls are awake, they are out of their rooms with other campers. So we wouldn’t stress much about this.

  • We recognize that these kids are your most prized possessions. The health and safety of our campers is of utmost importance to us. Our counselors are handpicked and go through significant training each year on how to best care for your kids. We keep watch over hydration, sunscreen, nutrition and more. We also have a licensed nurse on site to manage any health or medical emergencies and administer medications as needed.

  • Most likely not! You have time to prep them for it, though. Send them away to the grandparents or some friends for a night or two. We keep the campers very busy, and typically the parents miss their kids much more than the kids miss their parents :)
